Itinerary

01

Day 1: Sigiriya - Arrival

Your Sri Lanka Ramayana tour package begins with your arrival in Sigiriya, one of the most important sites on the Ramayana trail tour Sri Lanka. After a comfortable journey, you will check into your hotel and relax before heading out to explore the area. Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its ancient rock fortress, which stands majestically above the lush green forests. Though not directly linked to the Ramayana, Sigiriya serves as an excellent starting point for your exploration of the Sri Lanka Ramayana tour places.

In the evening, you can visit the Pidurangala Rock to enjoy panoramic views of the Sigiriya rock fortress, an awe-inspiring sight that sets the tone for the historical and cultural experiences awaiting you over the next few days. Sigiriya is also often included in popular Sri Lanka tour packages, making it a must-visit for travelers exploring both the mythological and scenic sides of the country.

02

Day 2: Jaffna - Arrival and Exploration

On the second day, your Ramayana Sri Lanka tour takes you to Jaffna, a culturally rich city located in the northernmost part of Sri Lanka. Jaffna is an important stop on the Sri Lanka Ramayana trail due to its strong connection with the Tamil culture and mythology surrounding Lord Ravana.

Upon arrival, you will visit the Naguleswaram Temple, one of the five ancient temples in Sri Lanka said to have been built by Lord Rama himself during his search for Sita. This temple is deeply rooted in the Ramayana story and offers a tranquil atmosphere for prayers and reflection.

You will also have the chance to explore Keerimalai Springs, believed to have healing properties, and other notable landmarks in the city before settling in for the night at your hotel.

03

Day 3: Trincomalee - Temple Tour

On Day 3, you will head to Trincomalee, one of the most sacred cities in Sri Lanka. Your sri lanka ramayana tour will include a visit to the famous Koneswaram Temple, which is perched on a cliff overlooking the Indian Ocean. This ancient Hindu temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is considered one of the most important religious sites in Sri Lanka. It also plays a key role in the Ramayana yatra Sri Lanka, as it is said that Lord Rama worshipped Shiva here to seek forgiveness for the destruction caused during his war with Ravana.

From here, visit Swami Rock, a towering promontory that offers stunning views of the ocean and the surrounding city. It’s believed that Lord Rama visited this area during his search for Sita. You’ll spend the night in Trincomalee, where you can reflect on the spiritual experiences of the day.

04

Day 4: Kandy - Arrival and Sightseeing

On the fourth day, your Sri Lanka Ramayana tour package takes you to Kandy, one of the most culturally significant cities in Sri Lanka. Kandy is not only a vibrant city but also home to the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic, a sacred site that holds a tooth of the Buddha.

Upon arrival, you'll explore Sri Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Tooth), which is an important pilgrimage site and a must-visit for anyone on a spiritual tour of Sri Lanka. Although not directly related to the Ramayana, this temple provides insight into the religious and cultural fabric of Sri Lanka, making it an essential part of the overall experience.

Later, you will visit Hanuman Temple in Ramboda, located on the way to Kandy. This temple is believed to mark one of the places where Hanuman rested during his search for Sita. It’s a serene spot and provides a deeper connection to the Ramayana trail tour Sri Lanka.

05

Day 5: Nuwara Eliya - Arrival and Sightseeing

On Day 5, you’ll continue your Sri Lanka Ramayana trail as you travel to Nuwara Eliya, known for its stunning landscapes and lush tea plantations. This region is also home to some of the most significant Sri Lanka Ramayana tour places, including Seetha Amman Temple, which is located near the famous Ashok Vatika Sri Lanka.

The Ashok Vatika is where Ravana is believed to have held Sita captive after abducting her. The garden still exists today, and the temple near the garden is dedicated to Sita. It is said that Lord Hanuman met Sita here, bringing her a message from Lord Rama.

After visiting these important sites, you’ll have the opportunity to relax in the cool climate of Nuwara Eliya, taking in the beautiful surroundings of this hill country town.

06

Day 6: Bentota - Arrival and Sightseeing

Day 6 of your Sri Lanka Ramayana tour brings you to the coastal town of Bentota. While this destination is primarily known for its beautiful beaches and water sports, it also holds a place on the Ramayana yatra Sri Lanka due to its connection with the legend of Ravana.

In Bentota, you will visit the Ravana’s Tunnel, an ancient cave system believed to have been used by Ravana as a secret passageway. This is one of the many locations on the Sri Lanka Ramayana tour map where you can find evidence of Ravana in Sri Lanka.

In addition to exploring the Ramayana sites, you can also enjoy a leisurely day at Bentota Beach, where you can relax, swim, or try out some exciting water activities. Bentota is a perfect blend of culture and relaxation, making it a great stop on your ramayana trail tour sri lanka.

07

Day 7: Colombo - Arrival and City Tour

On Day 7, you’ll arrive in Colombo, the bustling capital of Sri Lanka. Colombo is not only a modern city but also home to important sites related to the Ramayana Sri Lanka tour.

Your city tour will include a visit to the Kelaniya Temple, which is believed to have been visited by Lord Rama and Hanuman after their victory over Ravana. This temple holds deep spiritual significance and is a key stop on your sri lanka ramayana yatra.

After exploring the Ramayana-related sites, you can take a city tour that covers Colombo’s major attractions, including Galle Face Green, Viharamahadevi Park, and Independence Square. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the city’s fine dining establishments, celebrating the completion of your Sri Lanka Ramayana tour package.
